Earn Industry-Recognized Credentials in Advanced Manufacturing
IGNITE is designed to stimulate high school students' interest in Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 careers. Students are exposed to a variety of industries and technologies with the goal of exploring careers, earning certifications, and gaining employable skills.
IGNITE uses a combination of learning methods including eLearning, virtual trainers that replicate actual equipment, and hands-on work stations. The hands-on workstations feature real industrial equipment, just like what is used in local manufacturing facilities.
FREE for High School Students – Course 1: Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing, Course 2: Introduction to Systems, and Course 3: Mechatronic Systems.

Cost: FREE for students in 9th – 12th grade
Funded by Iowa Workforce Development work-based learning grant.
Course 1:
Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing
Introduces fundamental concepts in advanced manufacturing, designed to ignite interest and develop basic skills.
Course 2:
Introduction to Systems
Students will build upon the knowledge, skills, and abilities obtained during Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing. Students will be introduced to the future of advanced manufacturing through the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), lean manufacturing, and electronic systems. Students will also improve their Computer Aided Design, modeling, and robotic system skills.
